What Is a Transfer Case?

A transfer case is an area in the vehicle where the prop shaft transfers power from the transmission to the back wheels from the engine, so it’s a transferer of power to the back wheels in a four-wheel-drive car. The transfer case ensures power is distributed evenly to all the wheels through the front and rear axles.
