Jeep Oil Change Commonly Asked Questions & Replacement near Pacific

5. How do conventional and synthetic oil differ?

The major noticeable difference is that synthetic oil oftentimes lasts longer than conventional oil. This is because synthetic oil is created in the lab with chemicals added to increase performance while conventional oil is made using petroleum. You will find that many blends of synthetic oil will provide better lubrication for your engine than conventional oil is able to. In the long run, this may mean that your engine is generally able to perform better and experience less wear over the life of the vehicle.

8. Does Jeep give free oil changes?

Jeep vehicle owner support agents are available 24/7 and can be reached at (844) 533-7928 (JEEP WAVE) by our members. You can also chat online with one of our agents by visiting jeep.com/wave. As a Jeep Wave member, you will also have access to complimentary maintenance services, including tire rotations and 2 oil changes per year.

10. What is the longest that a Jeep Wrangler can go without an oil change?

About 8000 miles is the limit without an oil change for maximum oil usage.

4. What happens if more oil is added to the engine without first changing the old oil?

Adding more oil to your engine without expelling old oil is not ideal. What will happen is that eventually, the effectiveness of additives such as dispersants, detergents, rust fighters and friction reducers will diminish. This will result in the oil not lubricating as well as it should. Further, it will get contaminated with dust, metallic shavings, and possibly antifreeze, resulting in it becoming thick and abrasive.

9. Is synthetic oil recommended by Jeep?

The recommended oil for Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler and Ram vehicles is Pennzoil synthetic oil. Using this oil will therefore not result in any voiding of vehicle warranty. Benefits of using synthetic oils generally include enhanced engine protection for both older and newer engines.

7. What if I forget to change my engine oil? Will this cause engine failure if it exceeds the recommended change interval by about 1000 miles?

This is unlikely to happen. Generally, you would need to have the same oil in your engine for thousands of miles before any catastrophic failure is experienced.

2. How often should I change my oil?

We currently have a new system that is programmed to monitor driving habits, review hardware differences and to compare environmental conditions continuously against previous system settings that capped oil drain intervals at 5,600 kilometers. Other useful features in this new system include dashboard display messages for "Percent Oil Life Remaining", "Change Oil Soon" and "Change Oil Now".

6. How does my vehicle benefit from an oil change?

In a nutshell, regular oil changes ultimately work to prevent your engine from becoming damaged. Oil changes stop dirt and debris from clogging up your engine and when new oil is introduced to the engine, this results in better lubrication, lowering the amount of friction in the engine. This reduced friction is important, as it helps you to get better gas mileage than if a required oil change was not done.

1. What kind of oil does the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Ram use?

To determine the best oil type for your vehicle, it is recommended that you review the owner's manual. In general, however, oil types that exist include regular, blended and synthetic. These oil types range in viscosities such as 10w40 or 20w50, just to name a few. No matter what make or model your vehicle is, we can take care of changing the oil, plus, we do a whole list of courtesy checkups with every oil change. Regardless of the type of vehicle you have, when you come to the Murray Chrysler in Strathmore, we'll make sure you're covered - from regular oil changes to a range of other courtesy checkups!

3. Can I damage my car by never changing the oil?

Regular oil changes are necessary for the efficient functioning of your vehicle. If the oil is never changed, several negative effects may redound. Foremost, dirt will accumulate in the oil, causing it to thicken and become abrasive. This will in turn cause the filter to clog, then this dirty oil will automatically go through the filter and through the relief valve. These conditions will eventually cause engine failure as there will be more strain on the engine.

Can't recommend this dealership enough. In a time when dealers are posting fake prices/incentives and doing ridiculous things to get you in a door, Laura is up front every step of the way. I worked with Nick who is honestly the nicest salesman I've ever worked with. I'll absolutely buy my next one from here too!
